This is the shot in the morning, Susan and I swam in that pool last night and then walked a few feet to the Sea of Galilee and put our feet in. Bon in our group had a great shot fo Don, he took to bolders and stood on them and it looked like he was walking on water. Don and Bon were on their honeymoon, they are a very cute and wonderful couple to be around!
This is an Historical site! Home town of Peter, James, John and Andrew, Jesus had done many miricales here and dwelt here. I love verse 17 of Matthew 4 From that time Jesus began preaching and to say, "Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand"
This is an incrediable site with the pillars still standing, I can only imagine Jesus preaching and teaching here!
This is the site of Peter's tomb, they have built a structure over it to preserve it and also to serve as a place of viewing it from above and worshiping.
This is inside, it is rather large and the middle section is glass so you can look down on Peter's tomb
This was one of many of my personal favorite spots! I really felt connected here, walking down to the Sea, I could just see Peter and Andrew casting their nets into the Sea and Hearing Jesus saying " Follow me I will make you fishers of men." It brought new meaning to the song I have sang many times! I have decided to follow Jesus. The bible says they immediately left their nets and followed Him. Hem... Do you ever feel tangled in the nets! a thought to ponder!
Mount of Beatitudes
This is a traditional site it is so beautiful and lushes green, with lots of trees and flowers. The Catholics made this site in early 1930AD in remembrance of where Jesus taught the multitudes, we call it the sermon on the mount. Matthew 5, 6, & 7 In Hebrew the word blessed also can mean happy is..or congrats to..
We are familiar with most of these signs, the one between the dog and the quiet is no shorts! Most religious places we went to you had to be modestly dress in respect for the ones that will be looking at you. We forget about the sin of man, lust of the flesh eek
This was inside, all around the top where you can see the windows it is stain glass with the Beatitudes written on them, just beautiful! You can find the Beatitudes in Matthew 5 and Luke 6 Read it! Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled!
I didn't get a picture of it but.. it is believed that from this site you can see the wilderness where he took the 7 loaves and the fish, gave thanks and broke them and feed the multitude. Crazy to think that I missed some important pictures out of the 1500 I took!
Now we head to Dan, by way of walking along the Dan spring which feed the Jordan river, an oh my goosh moment!
ducking under trees and winding thru the trail covered with it's natural vegetation, like bay tree's and something like bamboo. I can't remember the name but.. they made paper out of it back in the day, we saw a demonstration pretty amazing.
Dan is where the children of Israel again fell into the depts of pegan worship. I have to think about this pegan worship??? Like most of the holidays we celebrate are started as pegan worship?? Think....hem... are we as christians honoring God by turning the pegan holiday to a christian??? Not sure I like being associated with the word pegan lol lots to sort out!
This is the place where the 6 day war took place.?? I need to ask some questions? I will get back on this one.
The wind was very very strong here, they planted trees to represent the men that died here and they tress are growing sideways.
