Day 7 Greek Orthodox church, Mt. Nebo

This day was lost in cyber space lol, I re-did it so it is not in the right order oh well!
This is the Greek Orthodox church of St. George, when they were rebuilding they found the earliest surviving map of the Holy Land in a mosaic on the floor.  While we were there, a service was being held in Greek was interesting.

Mosaic

close up

People came up and kissed the face of Jesus. The Priest came out behind the doors, people were getting large chunks of bread and eating it, we didn't understand it was in Greek

Close up mosaic, this is very time consuming to do and to think they did a map on the floor, of the holy land!
desert

You will find green patches through out the desert either spring feed or irrigated.

Mt. Nebo resting place of Moses

This is the place believed to be the site, where Jesus showed Moses the promised land! He never made it to the promised land because of disobedience. He is laid to rest in a tomb on this Mt. Nebo. From where I  am standing you can see the whole valley all the way to the Jordan River it is really a breath taking view.

I walked where Moses walked!

This is an olive tree, they are everywhere, another staple of the middle east diet and at every meal hehe OLIVE you

These are mosaic that where found on this location and perseved in a small museum on Mt. Nebo

Down the road we went to a mosaic factory, where they higher handicap people to construct mosaic art, this will take her 3 months to finish very tedious work, very beautiful and expensive.

This a typical of our guide (Alladin) taking to his wife, sounded like a fight but.. it is their language to be loud and angry sounding.

Leaving Jordan Heading to Israel and I am ready!
